The Kingdom of God

There are two kingdoms, the kingdom of Light ruled by the Lord Jesus Christ and the kingdom of darkness ruled by Satan. Both are absolute monarchs. Both demand total allegiance. there is no middle ground.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

We know that the kingdoms of this world, under the control of Satan are in direct opposition to the Lord. Christ has been enthroned despite their opposition.

Psalms 2:1 ¶ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

We know that Jesus has overcome and will ultimately destroy the kingdoms of this world.

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Daniel 7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Daniel 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

The kingdom of God , and the will of God are inseparable.

Matthew 6:10 Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done in earth as it isin heaven.

In the kingdon, He and He alone is sovereign.

Matthew 6:13 - And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us fromevil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Ephesians 1:21 - Far above all principality, and power, andmight, and dominion, and every name that is named, not onlyin this world, but also in that which is to come:

Jude 1:25 - To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory andmajesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Revelation 7:9 - After this I beheld, and, lo, a greatmultitude, which no man could number, of all nations, andkindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne,and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms intheir hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to ourGod which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and[about] the elders and the four beasts, and fell before thethrone on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, andthanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, [be] unto ourGod for ever and ever. Amen.

Entrance into the kingdom is by birth and birth alone.

John 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannotenter into the kingdom of God.

Entrance into the kingdom depends upon obedience to the word.

Matthew 7:21 - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth thewill of my Father which is in heaven.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, anddoeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which builthis house upon a rock:

We must enter the kingdom in child-like faith.

Luke 18:17 - Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall notreceive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wiseenter therein.

Nobody is automatically entitled to enter because ofcondition of birth, but entrance is by believing God.

Matthew 8:11 - And I say unto you, That many shall come fromthe east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, andIsaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out intoouter darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing ofteeth.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and asthou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And hisservant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Because His kingdom is not earthly, it operates underdifferent principals.

John 18:36 - Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world:if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servantsfight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now ismy kingdom not from hence.

The kingdom is internal, invisible, and spiritual.

Luke 17:20 - And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, whenthe kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said,The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Romans 14:17 - For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink;but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ [is]acceptable to God, and approved of men.

The kingdom is demostrated by the power of the Holy Ghost.

1Cor. 4:20 - For the kingdom of God [is] not in word, but inpower.

In contrast to the current health and wealth gospel, Jesusclearly showed what our attitude should be concerningmaterial goods. We absolutely must seek His kingdom andrighteousness first!

Luke 12:29 - And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what yeshall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seekafter: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of thesethings.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all thesethings shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's goodpleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselvesbags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens thatfaileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither mothcorrupteth.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart bealso.

The kingdom, the resurrection and the Name of Jesus are inseparable.

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Jesus promised that His kingdom would come with power:

Mark 9:1 ¶ And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

This was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost;

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Peter preached the enthronement of Christ to the assembled mocking crowd.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

The people were pricked in their hearts by the word that Peter preached. They cried out, "What shall we do?

Acts 2:37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

In effect they were saying, We recognize that Jesus is on the throne of His kingdom. How do we enter His kingdom? Peter had a ready answer. We remember that Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom to the apostle Peter.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

The keys that Peter used at Pentecost were used again by Peter at Samaria, and also at the household of Cornelius. There are no recorded conversion experiences in the New Testament that contradict what Peter preached in these three instances. The message is still the same.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

I am happy that somebody told me the message of Christ and that I was born into His kingdom, when I responded and believed on His Name. If you don't know Jesus, please consider this rather long list of scriptures that we have presented. He has a place for you in His kingdom.
