A Photo Tour of the High Sierra
Trying to learn how to use our new digital camera Marie and I took a four day Geezer Tour of Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carson City and Virginia City, NV. Once again the magnitude of God's handiwork is awesome and hard to describe. Lake Tahoe is over 1600 feet deep. The water is 99% pure and it's beauty is hard to describe. Here's Geeezer 1 and his lovely bride.  
(L) We took this paddle boat on a trip across the lake to Zeypher Cove. (R) We left these little guys on the shore. As the bible says, thay don't toil or spin. They just instinctively rely on their Creator. Good example for us!

How would you like this for a cottage - with your own private island? The original owner used to ferry guests to the island for tea in a little structure at the very top. If I had to climb that, I would require more than tea.

(L) Somebody else had the same idea (R) That's Reno, about 15 or 20 miles away, from about 7000 feet elevation out the window of a fast moving bus  
Ever since reading about Virginia City and the Comstock Lode, I always wanted to visit. This town sprung up quickly when silver was discovered. From the best I can see they had 2 churches and 100 saloons. $400,000,000 worth of silver was taken out in just a few years. When that played out, the town was largely abandoned. It still has two churches and about 100 souvenir shops, with most of the products marked, "Made in China."  
After 4 days of riding in a bouncing bus and eating all of those hotel buffets, we were glad to return to our humble abode in Henderson, NV.
