A Photo Tour of the Southwest
Trying to learn how to use our new digital camera If you should visit Las Vegas, don't miss the cactus gardens at the Ethyl M chocolate factory. The tour is free, but of course they will give you a free sample to entice you to buy their chocolates. Expensive, but hard to resist. You'll see about every variety of cactus from the S.W. United states and Mexico. At the cactus garden are our guests who visited from Flint Michigan. From the left: Pastor Bill and Lois Lobbs who have the website Pastor Bill's Nuggets of Truth and our friends Gerald and Delores Roy. Just ignore the guy on the right.
Another place worth seeing is the Valley of Fire State Park about 45 miles north of the city.
Next we went to the Grand Canyon, which our guest referred to as the Big Hole. On the way we passed Mt. Humphries which is the highest point in Arizona. Awesome.
Every time we see the Grand Canyon, we are awe struck by the magnitude of God's handiwork.
We ended our trip in Oatman Arizona, which is an old mining town, which has found new life as a getaway for souvenir shoppers. Here the burros are protected by federal law and local custom. If a burro is standing in your way, just wait. He'll move on when he feels like it. Of course you can work him out of the way with a carrot or two.
We ended up in Sedona Arizona which is well known as a center of new age religion. of course we didn't need that as we are stuck on that old time religion. You might have seen some of these scenes in old cowboy movies.
