We extend to you and yours our sincere greetings. Our prayer is that each of you will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, during the coming year.

At this time of year when ceremony, myth and ritual, have all but replaced the true story and meaning of Christmas, a time of reflection is in order to remember what it is all about.

Galatians 4:4  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

John 1:10  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Jesus entered the world at Bethlehem as a child. He was not born in a mansion, but in a stable. He grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Nazareth of Galilee.  He proclaimed His messiahship and few believed Him. He performed miracle after miracle, and yet the religious establishment rejected Him. Men marveled at the gracious words that proceeded from his mouth and in the same instant, sought to kill Him.  He was meek, lowly and holy.  He came as a shepherd seeking  the wandering lamb. The world rejected and killed Him, but that was not the end.

He arose from the grave holding the keys to death and to hell. He placed His precious blood on the mercy seat of heaven to cover my sin. By shedding His holy blood, He gave you and me the right and privilege to be called sons and heirs of God.  In all of our extravagance at this time of year, no gift will ever match the gift that God gave to us in the manger of Bethlehem. He gave Himself.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

In About-Him
Marie and I dusted off the recording equipment and did a "Christmas" song, that can be sung everyday of the year.   Nothing about jingling bells or Santa Claus. This song tells it all. It is entitled Jesus the Son of God , written by the late  Bis. G.T. Haywood. We hope you enjoy and are blessed by it.

Humor
Children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic school for lunch. At the head of the  table was a large pile of apples.

The nun made a note, "Take only one: God is watching."

Moving through the line, to the other end of the table, was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A boy wrote a note, "Take all you want: God is watching the apples."

Keep Looking Up!
