About-Him Devotional 08-16-03
The life of Christ, from His baptism to His ascension, following the Harmony of the Gospels.
92: Growing Opposition - Mt. 12:24-25; Mk. 3:22-27; Lu. 11:14-15
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
93: Discourse on the Unpardonable Sin - Mt. 12:25-37; Mk. 3:28-30
Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.I believe it is fair to say that those who had once been enlightened and rejected Christ would certainly stand in greater jeopardy of committing this sin (Hebrews 10:29) than those who, like Paul, opposed the Lord in ignorance and unbelief (Acts 26:11). Whatever the unpardonable sin is, it is a good bet that if your spirit is sensitive enough to the things of God to wonder if you have committed it, you haven't.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

A fisherman returned to shore with a giant marlin that was bigger and heavier than he. On the way to the cleaning shed, he ran into a second fisherman who had a stringer with a dozen baby minnows.
The second fisherman looked at the marlin, turned to the first fisherman and said, "Only caught one, eh?"
