I Corinthians15:47 The first man
is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from
heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such
are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such
are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image
of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly.
What a hope! What a
promise! What an exciting thing to look forward to! I , who came forth in the
image and likeness of my father Adam (Genesis 5:3), by nature a
child of wrath (Ephesians 2:3), will bear the nature of Jesus the
second Adam, who is the Lord from heaven. I have been washed,
santified and justified in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the Spirit
of the living God (I Corinthians 6:11). I was predestinated to be conformed to
the image of God's Son (Romans 8:29). I will shine like the sun in the kingdom
of my Father (Matthew 13:43).
While my transformation is not yet
complete and I don't know what my final state will be, I know that I will be
like Him and that I will see Him as He is (1 John 3:2).
It's not all in the future
however. We are progressively being changed into the image of our Lord (2
Corinthians 3:18). Through many trials and tribulations, we manifest the life of
Jesus in our mortal bodies (2 Corinthians 4:11). The world is watching. They are
looking to see Jesus manifested in us.
2 Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing
about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might
be made manifest in our body.

During training exercises, the
lieutenant, who was driving down a muddy back road, encountered another jeep
stuck in the mud with a red-faced colonel at the wheel.
"Your jeep stuck, sir?" asked the lieutenant as he pulled alongside. "Nope," replied the colonel, coming over and handing him the keys, "Yours is." Something To think About!
