Proverbs 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The old hymn states it well: O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.

Proverbs 16:3 ¶ Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

When we acknowledge and include Him in even the smallest of our plans, He directs our path, and saves us needless frustration.

Isaiah 46:10  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

We serve a God who has already declared the things that have not yet come to pass. Wouldn't it make a lot of sense to check with Him first, before we embark on any course of action. His counsel is the only thing that will stand, He will do His good pleasure. When we commit our intended course of action to Him, we are assurred of being in harmony with that which He has forordained. Anything else is doomed to failure.

Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The God who feeds the raven and clothes the lily is ever ready and willing to assist and direct us with anything, big or small,  that we will present to Him in prayer.

An elderly Floridian called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher:

"They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the
accelerator!" she cried.

The dispatcher said, "Stay calm. An officer is on the way."

A few minutes later, the officer radios in. "Disregard." he says.   "She got in the backseat by mistake!
