Psalms 119:11 ¶ Thy word have I
hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against
thee.
Psalms 119:105 ¶ NUN. Thy word
[is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
We know that the word of God is
eternal and unchanging. The word that God gave to inspired writers,
reveals His very heart and nature. His words are spirit and life.
We wear the Word as a shield
around our heart. The Word analyzes every thought, motive, action, and reaction
that we have. The Word acts as a filter against the polutions of this world.
The Word quickly reminds us when any word or deed is not done in the name
of Jesus for the purpose of bringing glory to God (Colossians
3:17).
God promised Israel that under the
new covenant, His Word would be inscribed in their inward parts (Jeremiah
31:33), He promised a new spirit and a heart of flesh rather than a heart of
stone (Ezekiel 11:19).
We are under the new covenant.
God's Word is written in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost. We are epistles of the
living Christ. His Word is reflected in all that we do, that we might walk
before Him in holiness, manifesting His law that is written in our hearts,
for the purpose of leading others to Him.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word
of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your
hearts to the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:3
[Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered
by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in
tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
