him all things consist.
Hebrews 1:3 Who
being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our
sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Have you ever wondered why
all the atoms and elements of matter stay in their prescribed form? Science
tells us that there is a force that binds matter together; if this force were to
stop working, the elements of the earth would explode in utter chaos. We know
Who that force is, don't we? It is Jesus the living Word of the Father, sitting
on His throne upholding all things by the word of His power. He spoke the
worlds into existence by His Word and has maintaining it in precise
order since.
We have confidence in Him
in whom we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Our next steps and our
next breaths are uncertain. However, as we enjoy the life that he has given, the
air that we breath and the sunshine that we feel, let us look to heaven with a
heart full of praise and gratitude to Jesus our Creator, Redeemer and
Sustainer.
