About-Him.Com Devotional 09-22-01
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be
one LORD, and his name one. - Zechariah 14:9
Within
expousing any particular endtime scenario, I believe that most Christians
sensitive to
the Spirit of God will agree that we are living in the endtimes. We don't know
what is going to happen, but we do know the One who has it all under control.
All of the events taking place are like pieces in a large puzzle. We don't
know how it all fits together, but we do know that when the final scene is
displayed it will be of the Lord Jesus reigning and
ruling over the whole world. Every knee will bow and confess His name (
Philippians 2:9-11; Ephesians 1:21). The kings, the rich and great, the
mighty, and every other man on earth will try to hide their faces from Him who
sits on the throne excercizing wrath (Revelation
6:15-16).
However, for us, the recent tragic events present
an open door and an opportunity to present the gospel and to be witnesses of
the Lord Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). We hold forth the Word of life
(Philippians 2:16) to the whole world, ever ready to give an answer of the
hope that lies within us (I Peter 3:15).
