About-Him Devotional 06-02-01 http://about-him.com   Phillipians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:   The Lord Jesus is our pattern and we are exhorted to imitate Him. This imitation can only be done as we cooperate with His Spirit.   Although He was in very nature God. He did not claim His rights as God, but He assumed our nature and walked this earth as a servant (Isaiah 42:1-4, 52:13-15; Matthew 12:8). Not too many of us really want to be a servant. We may talk the talk, but is is another thing to walk the walk. How many of us would take the job of a slave and wash the dirty feet of our rancorous disciples ( John 13:14). Jesus said that His purpose was not that He should be ministered to, but that He could minister to and give His life as a ransom for us (Mark 10:45). What an example! It all hinges on humility, submission  and obedience:   As Samuel told Saul, "To obey is better than sacrifice (I Samuel 15:22)." In other words, our religious profession and our rituals are meaningless unless we have obeyed the Word of God to the best of our ability (Isaiah 1:12-17; Matthew 23:23). The test of our relationship with the Lord is have  we obeyed Him ( Luke 6:46). Another test is our willingness to submit to and be servants one to the other (Phillipians 2;3; Romans 12:10; Ephesians 4:2; I Peter 5:5. We will hear Him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. "(Matthew 25:21) In About-Him   Our thanks to those who responded to our test of posting MP3 music. We've decided to stick with RealAudio for now. As they say, " If it ain't broke don't fix it."   We just returned from a trip to the Grand Canyon and Sedona Arizona. By next week we should have a new Flash movie up to show off the beauty of God's creation along with some appropriate music and scripture graphics.     Church Bulletin Bloopers    Barbara remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Jack's sermons. The Rector will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing "Break Forth into Joy." Keep Looking Up!
