Timothy 3:16 - And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
John 1:10 - He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. We all love a mystery. The great mystery of all ages is the mystery of the incarnation of the Almighty God in our Lord Jesus Christ. I don't fully understand it and I'm sure I don't appreciate it as I should, but I fully believe and accept it. Jesus was more than a babe in the manger, He was God robed in flesh. No other could make the necessary sacrifice that was required, so He came Himself ( Exodus 12:13; Hebrews 9:22 ;Isaiah 7:4, 9:6, 59:16). As He walked this earth He was fully God and fully man in one visible being (Hebrews 1:3). The gentle Jesus who cries "Come unto Me" (John 7:37) is the God who stretched forth the heavens, alone by Himself ( Isaiah 44:24 ) and called to Moses from the midst of the burning bush (Exodus 3:4). He made a promise to King David that He would set on David's throne in the person of one of His descendants, namely Jesus (Psalms 132:11). He claimed in Isaiah 44:6 to be our only God, our Redeemer, the first and the last. He reiterates this claim in Revelation, as He speaks from the throne of heaven ( Revelation 1:8, 11 ; 21:6, 13). The same God who entered this world as a child, accomplished our salvation with His own blood (Acts 20:28; Hebrews 13:12) on the cross of Calvary. He's not in the manger any longer, He's on the throne of h appeared on earth as a helpless human babyeaven (Revelation 4:2), and He is soon to return for those who have placed their trust in Him. Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Song: My God, My King and My Redeemer The Almighty appeared on earth as a helpless human baby, needing to be fed and changed and taught to talk like any other child. The more you think about it, the more staggering it gets. Nothing in fiction is so fantastic as this truth of the Incarnation. - J. I. Packer
