John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Chosen and ordained by the Master to bring forth fruit that remains.! Is there a higher calling in this life? I think not! The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13) illustrates how that many receive the seed of the Word of God, but they do not remain, because they have no root. Having not been taught and disciplined in the Word of God, anything and everything causes them to lose out, wither and die. The original rendering of the great commissions is to go forth and make disciples in the name of the Lord (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-17, Luke 24:47-49; Acts 1:8). Making disciples denotes more than leading someone to recite the sinner's prayer, It means loving, caring, nurturing and instructing others in the principals of the kingdom of God. It means being there in the bad times and having an ear to listen and a timely word in season to the weary one (Isaiah 50:4). Jesus set forth a simply standard to the apostle Peter , it was simply, "If you love Me, feed my lambs." John 21:15 ¶ So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. Song: My God, My King and My Redeemer Our Expository Studies
