"Women, Thou art loosed from thine infirmity."
Gracious words from the Master that apply not only to women, but to all of mankind. Words spoken by the One who claimed the anointing of God to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, to deliver the captives and to give liberty to those who are bruised (Luke 4:18-19, Isaiah 61:1-3). Gracious words from One who felt compelled to come from heaven and share in our earthly nature (Hebrews 2:17). He was tempted in all the same ways as we, yet He did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). Gracious words from the One who said, "Come unto Me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:18). Gracious words from the One who would soon shed His precious blood for the sins of all mankind and would bear our infirmities in His own body of the cross of Calvary (Matthew 8:18; I Peter 2:24). Gracious words from the One who would rise from the dead and claim all the power of heaven and earth (Matthew 28:19), and who promised to dwell in us by the power of His Spirit (Acts 1:8). Song: My God, My King and My Redeemer Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe. ~ Augustine Humor "Well, thank heaven," said the wife, At least our James has nothing standing in his way."
