MalachI 4:1 ¶ For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
The book of Malachi closes out the Old Testament with the prophesy of the coming of John the Baptist who would be the forerunner for the Messiah. It also prophesies the destruction of Jerusalem, if the Jewish nation refused to accept Jesus as their Messiah. We know that Jesus was rejected as Messiah and Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans as prophesied. However, believers who remembered the words of Jesus were able to flee to the mountains as He had commanded and be saved.
Just as those who remembered and thought upon the name of the Lord were saved from the destruction of Jerusalem, believers today will be saved from future conflict and coming tribulation when they remember and think upon the name of the Lord.
The Lord treasures His name. His name denotes all that He is, has been and will be. He is the great I AM which He said would be His name forever and His memorial to all generations (Ex. 3:14-15). Jesus, The Sun of Righteousness, claimed the eternal name of I AM (Jn. 8:58) and today we call called Him the ……Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Is. 9:6).

In times of difficulty the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings. Just as the natural sun drives away the storm clouds, The Sun of righteousness dispels our darkness so that we can behold His face. Just as the flowers turn their heads to follow the natural sun across the heavens, we turn our heads to follow every movement of Jesus our Sun of Righteousness.
Psalms 135:13 Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; [and] thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Psalms 72:17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and [men] shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
War against is being waged across Africa and the middle east in name of another god. Christian are being killed and persecuted and their churches burned. Today the war drums are beating in the middle east. Many nations are ready to move against Syria, because of their atrocities. I don’t know where this will lead, but I do know it is another step in the fulfillment of biblical prophesy, which will culminate in the great tribulation and all nations coming against Jerusalem.
2 Thessalonians 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
Because believers have believed on, trusted in and admired Jesus, He will be glorified in us and our names will be eternally recorded in His book of remembrance.
Malachi 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. - C. S. Lewis
