Greeting to all this Easter season, as special attention and emphasize is given to the crucifixion of Jesus and His glorious resurrection from the dead. Note that I said special emphasize. As the apostle Paul said, we bear the dying of the Lord Jesus in our mortal bodies, that His life may also be manifested in us. That’s 24/7 365 days a year. 2 Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. This morning, the old hymn, Jesus Paid it All, came to mind. Jesus paid it all - all to Him I owe Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow This reminds us of the Lord’s promise in Isaiah 1:18. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. I believe we all can identify with that. As the apostle Paul said in, “And such were some of you, but…..” 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I’m reminded of Bishop G.T. Haywood’s timeless hymn, A Crimson Stream. When gloom and sadness whisper, you’ve sinned no need to pray I look away to Jesus and He tells me to say I see a crimson stream of blood, it flows from Calvary It’s streams which reach the throne of God, are sweeping over me. As we daily commemorate the dying and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, we are assured by the word of God in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 of a resurrection yet to come. If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we will rise from this earth to join the sainted dead in greeting our Lord in His glorious return. As the text says, “So shall we ever be with the Lord.” I’m looking forward to that day and I’m sure that you are too.
