Http://About-Him.Com Psalms 8:3 ¶ When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! We have just returned from an Alaskan cruise that our children gave us for our 50th wedding anniversary. It was awesome! We visited Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan. Aboard ship we were entertained by the Gaither Homecoming Tour Group. They were fabulous. As we viewed the great creation of our God, many scriptures came to mind. The mountains and glaciers were awesome. The whales splashing and the salmon returning instinctively to lay there eggs at the place of their birth, made me think of our great Creator. So, who am I in the great scheme of things? Why does He take note of me? Why does He even care to number the hairs of my head? Why did He choose to love Me? Most of all, why did He condescend from heaven to walk as a man among His very creation? I don't know why, because I have done nothing to deserve His mercy and grace, and yet these were freely extended. He knew me in eternity past and in the mind of God, Calvary was an accomplished fact. Jesus prayed for me in the garden. As the song says, "When He was on the cross, I was on His Mind." All this leaves me with one resolve which was so well stated by the late C.T. Studd, "If Jesus Christ is God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him." We can join with the Psalmist above and shout! Psalms 8:9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

While visiting Juneau, our bus driver told us that the local officials had tried to populate to area with moose for the benefit of the local tourist. However, the moose didn't like it there. At low tide they simply walked off of the island. Our driver said that he was hired to wear a moose outfit and stand by the side of the road, for the benefit of the tourist. As the tour busses were driving by, he spotted a bear coming in his direction. He started to run, but he tripped over a pile of brush and fell down. Suddenly the bear tripped over the same brush pile and our driver, the moose, began to scream and holler. The bear said, "Shut up before you get us both fired."

A successful woman preacher was once asked "what special obstacles have you met as a woman in the ministry?" "Not one," she answered, "except the lack of a minister's wife." Keep Looking Up!
