We Are Ambassadors For Christ We are ambassadors for Christ! Yes, you and me. We may be simple, perhaps uneducated, old (I hate that word) and considered by many as not having much to say. However God, who reconciled the world to Himself by the death of Jesus, wants the world to be made aware that there is new life and forgiveness of sin available, simply for the asking. II Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. What is the job of an ambassador? They speak as a representative of their government. They don’t speak their own thoughts, but only what they have been instructed to say. The ambassador lives in an alien country, which may be friendly, but is often hostile. When he is in a hostile environment he still speaks boldly to convey the position of his government. This may be difficult but he realizes that a hostile attack on him would be considered as an attack on the government that he represents and would not be ignored. Yes, we are ambassadors living in a hostile world. Our citizenship is in heaven where we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Php.3:20; Col.3:2; Eph.2:19; Heb.12:22). Yet, while on this earth, we are the salt of the earth and a city set on a hill that cannot be hid and we have something to say (Matthew 5:13-14). We are presently facing a worldwide financial meltdown. Unemployment is rising rapidly and more folks are losing their homes everyday. People need wise words, words of hope and words of reconciliation. They need to know why we have confidence in the face of this storm. They need to realize that the value of their soul is far greater than their lost savings. They need to know that the Savior lives and is still calling, “Come unto me and I will give you rest.” How are they going to know? That’s our job, we must speak up. We have been given something to say and have been empowered by God’s Spirit to say it (Mt. 10:19). We have been made able ministers of the new testament. We don’t speak the dead things of our own thoughts, but we speak as the Spirit of God directs us. 2Corinthians 3:6 ¶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. We hold forth the word of life in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation/world. Philippiansp. 2:14 ¶ Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. We see people everyday that our preacher will never meet. We don’t have to preach a sermon but, firstly live the life and then to speak words of life and hope and reconciliation. Isaiah 50:4 ¶ The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary:....... Free Ebooks That You Can Download.
