http://about-him.com/ Know Nothing But Christ and Him Crucified As I was meditating on this text, Sis. Marie started playing a CD that says it all. Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full into His wonderful face And the things of this world will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace. 1 Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Turn our eyes upon Jesus, upon the One: Who is the eternal living word of God (John 1:1.14). Who upholds all things by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3) and by Whom all things consist (Colossians 1:17). We read in Philppians 2:5-11 that although He was essentially God in nature, He laid all of that aside and took on the form of a servant. Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the death of the cross. Because of this God has given Him the eternal name that is above every name. We will all bow to the name of Jesus and confess Him as Lord. If He is Lord, He is Master of all. When the seas are raging, a simple word calms the storm (Matthew 8:26). When storms are upon us, He is our shelter covert (shelter) from the wind (Isaiah 32:2). He is the Rock of our salvation (Psalms 18:46). Financial markets are failing, but He never fails. He clothes the lilies and feed the ravens (Luke 12:24). He sees when a lowly sparrow falls to the ground and He assures us that we are of much more value than they. He’s even counted the hairs of our head. He told us that His kingdom was not of this world, so we don’t have to be unduly concerned when we see end time events unfolding just as He predicted. We take comfort and look up, knowing that our redemption in near (Luke 21:28). He left this earth to prepare a home for us and has promised to return for us again, that where He is, we may be also (John 14:1-3). He bore our sin and purchased our healing on the cross (Isaiah 53). He triumphed over the forces of hell on the cross and rendered them impotent (Colossians 2:15). Having walked this earth as a man, He is touched by the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15) and He ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:15). Have you noticed how depressing it is to watch the news? Gloom despair and misery on me. First Hillary and Obama, then the possibility of $4.00 gas, and then just maybe another war on the horizon. Some choose to agonize about these things that might be, I choose to concentrate on Him. Like the apostle, I have determined to know nothing except, Jesus Christ, crucified, justified, risen and ascended to the throne of heaven. Another chorus comes to mind: Let’s talk about Jesus, the King of Kings is He The Lord of Lords supreme, throughout eternity The great I AM the Way, the Life, the Truth, the Door Let’s talk about Jesus, more and more.
