The Peace of God
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be trouble, neither let it be afraid. Shortly before Jesus ascended, He promised to leave us "His peace." This is a peace completely different from anything that the world can offer, nor can they comprehend it. As the old song says, "The world didn't give and they can't take it away." Because of Jesus, we can have peace in the midst of the storm, such as He demonstrated when He slept in the back of the boat while His disciples were fearful of perishing (Mark 4:38). I am reminded of the song writer, Herbert Buffum, who returned home one night to find that His wife and children had perished when their house was completely burned. It must have really been a time of anguish for him; yet in that time of despair He penned the words to the old hymn He Keeps Me Singing. There's within my heart a melody, Jesus whispers sweet and low. Lo, I'm with you always, peace be still, throughout all life's ebb and flow. That is truly a peace beyond understanding. The peace of God was purchased by Jesus, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) on Calvary. The price of the purchase? His blood. Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. The apostle Paul gives us the assurance that the peace of God which has been so freely given to us, we need not be fearful or afraid of any situation that arises. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. When strife and turmoil arises and our emotions are negatively affected, we need only to cry out, "Lord Jesus, rebuke the storm, flood my soul with your peace which you purchased for me with your blood on the cross." And after making that prayer, it is up to us to let His peace rule in our hearts. It's there for the asking. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. God Bless You. In About-Him

Police in Radnor, Pennsylvania, interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head
and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in
the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't
telling the truth. Believing the "lie detector" was working, the suspect confessed.

"Some people think God does not like to be troubled with our constant coming and asking.
The way to trouble God is not to come at all." - D. L. Moody
