Faith is not of ourselves. Faith is a gift of God!
Ephesians2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Our faith is a gift from above, given to us by God's own will, not our own!
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of
firstfruits of his creatures.

Jesus chose us and ordained us to have faith.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye
should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Faith is imparted to us when we respond to God's Word.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

When we die with Christ, His faith becomes an intergal part of our being.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Faith and righteousness are closely associated. They are both attributes of Jesus,
freely given to us, when we believe on and respond to God's Word.
Philippians 3:9 ΒΆ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is
of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith:
