While God's promised mercy is heavily mentioned in the Old Testament. Grace, or mercy put in action, is more of a New Testament theme. Because of God's mercy, He saved us, and extended grace to us. Grace is used in two ways in the New Testament, saving grace and grace that enables us to carry out God's plan and labor for His Kingdom. The prophets saw this time of grace in which we live. 1 Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
